Intrust Named 2023 Great Game of Business All-Star Champion

Intrust is a Great Game of Business® All-Star, Again!

Cincinnati, OH:

We are thrilled to announce that Intrust IT has been honored as a 2023 Great Game of Business All-Star Champion. This recognition comes from The Great Game of Business, Inc., a global community celebrating companies that exemplify an unshakable dedication to cultivating thriving workplace cultures, achieving top-tier financial performance and fostering unparalleled employee engagement.

Every year, the Great Game community acknowledges organizations like Intrust IT that have fostered a “business of business people” mindset — empowering employees to think, act and feel like owners. At Intrust IT, we have achieved this by educating our team about the inner workings of our business, granting them a voice in shaping our company’s direction and providing them with a stake in our financial success.

We firmly believe in harnessing the transformative power of business to enhance the lives of our associates and the communities we serve.

Becoming a Great Game of Business All-Star Champion

The cornerstone elements of The Great Game of Business at Intrust IT revolve around the challenge, solution and results:

Challenge

Our journey began with the task of educating our employees about our company’s finances, a mission that took on heightened significance as we transitioned into an employee stock ownership plan (ESOP) structure.

Solution

We embraced The Great Game of Business® (GGOB) practices, incorporating huddling, financial literacy training and forecasting into our daily MSP operations. These practices galvanized our entire team to scrutinize costs and seek avenues for margin improvement.

Results

CEO Tim Rettig attributes the remarkable transformation of our company’s financial landscape to GGOB, particularly its profound impact on profitability. As Intrust IT made the transition to a 30 percent ESOP in recent years, GGOB played a pivotal role in nurturing a culture of ownership.

Notably, our employee turnover rate during and after the pandemic was nearly non-existent, setting us apart from our peers in our industry. Perhaps even more exhilarating, the value of shares in our ESOP has almost doubled in the past four years.

“We have significantly reduced turnover, and every member of our company is deeply engaged with our profitability,” Rettig says. “They understand the financial intricacies, how their contributions can effect change and the direct benefits of our collective success.”
